  • Wakefield, Mass. - The Hockey East Association announced that senior forward Spencer Abbott (Hamilton, Ont.) from the University of Maine was named 2012 Athletic Republic Player of the Year on Thursday night at the league's annual Championship Awards night at the Royal Sonesta Hotel in Cambridge, Mass.  Athletic  Republic - Norwood owner, PJ Vende Rydt was on had to make the persentation.

  • The entire Athletic Republic network mourns the loss of life and the players from the KHL's Lokomotiv Yaroslavl team who died earlier today when their private Russian jet crashed into a riverbank just moments after takeoff. Among the 500 athletes participating was Kyle Faunce, who has been training with Athletic Republic in Tempe, Az., for more than a year. To Faunce, the Combine was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to showcase his talent on a national level. "I was so excited when I found out I was selected that it was hard to concentrate for the rest of the day," Faunce said.

Henderson is preparing for the upcoming Army All-American Bowl to be held in San Antonio, Texas on January 9, 2010.   Coach McNally spent over three hours taking the offensive tackle through a variety of drills and refining his technique.

  • Pulling up to All-Star Sports Training in Paisley, Florida for the first day of the Top Gun camp I was a bit skeptical.  You drive down a 1/4 mile dirt road and the first thing that you see is about 10 long horn bulls.  This was going to be my office for the next two weeks and I was not sure what to expect.  I have visited and trained at many training facilities but none of them had livestock to my knowledge.

Last week, the Suffolk PAL Junior “B” franchise took that to another level when they clinched a National Championship Title from the Central Penn Panthers with a decisive 4-1 win.

I just finished up my first FBU event in Southern Cali’s own, San Diego.  The camp was held at Cathedral High School, whose football team won the State Champs of last year.  The brand new campus was awesome as it had an Aztec look plus a monastery feel to it.  The camp started off great because I had the chance to individually meet every kid.  All seemed nervous, yet super excited  at the same time.
