May 31st, 2008, Winston Salem, NC: Facility owners Jimmy Freland and Randall Allred officially opened the newest Athletic Republic facility. Filled with state-of-the-art equipment, the new building has a sharp, modern appeal to it that attracted many. Among the new tools available were two Generation II Super Treadmills, PlyoPress and MultiHip machines, even a strip of track and Astroturf.

Given the wide array of attendees over the course of the day, this was a very successful opening. Among those in attendance were highly practiced athletes from a range of different sports, stand-out athletes from the community, families including young people just getting started in athletics, and coaches. “It was very exciting to see such a varied audience come through the door with an anticipation and desire to start training,” said Tricia Kobos, VP Operations.
