Active Aging → The Workout Your 70s Will Thank You For
Train for longevity
and independence.
A circuit-based program built for adults 60 and up — designed to support bone density, sharpen balance, and rebuild the strength that makes everyday life feel easy again.

25% of Americans aged 65 and older falls each year - it’s the leading cause of injury among older adults. Lower body weakness and difficulties with walking and balance are the primary risk factors.

10-15%
Independent-living physical function (muscle strength, endurance, and balance) naturally declines by about 10% to 15% per decade in older adults. Movement and exercise offer direct protection against this decline.
The National Institute on Aging (NIH)
50 Minutes
Older adults who were completely inactive but started getting just 50 minutes a week of moderate physical activity saw a 31% reduction in mortality risk. Those who got 150 minutes saw a 45% reduction.

Aging isn't the problem. Sitting still is.
The decline most people accept as "getting older" — losing balance, losing strength, losing the confidence to carry groceries up the stairs — is largely the accumulated cost of a sedentary decade.
The body doesn't stop responding to training after 60. It just stops being asked.
A workout that's never the same twice.
Every session is a circuit. Every circuit is different. And every movement can be adapted on the spot by a trainer who knows your body, your history, and your limitations.
Strength
Load-bearing, balance-oriented work. The kind of training that signals bone to stay dense and muscle to stay useful.
Stability
Reactivating the motor connections that keep you upright. Balance isn't luck. It's a trainable skill.
Stamina
Short, controlled bursts of real intensity — just a few minutes per session where your heart rate climbs into a zone most people over 60 never touch anymore. That's where cardiovascular capacity actually changes.
Flexibility
Full range of motion through the hips, shoulders, and spine, so strength translates into movement you can use.
The single most influential workout habit for longevity is maintaining consistent, regular physical activity that combines both aerobic exercise and strength training.

Every workout is modified to the person doing it. Physical limitations aren't a reason to sit out — they're the reason we assess you first.
This program is for you if any of these sound familiar.
You're 60 or older and want to stay independent, mobile, and capable.
You've been told to "be careful" more times than you'd like.
You've never trained seriously and don't know where to start.
You've had a knee, hip, or shoulder that's slowed you down — and you've been avoiding training because of it.
You're already active and want to make sure it stays that way.
You want to keep up with the people you love.
What a session looks like
No two sessions look the same. Here's what they have in common.
Your first visit is an assessment — movement, balance, strength, and any limitations we need to work around. After that, you join a small-group circuit led by a certified Athletic Republic trainer who adjusts the work in real time.
Stations rotate. Intensity is earned, not assumed. Progressions come when you're ready for them — and they will come!

I haven't worked out in years. Is this too much?
No. That's who this is built for. Your first session is an assessment, not a workout, and every movement scales down as far as it needs to.
What if I have arthritis, a replacement, or a prior injury?
Tell us at your assessment. Our trainers modify around limitations every day — that's the core of the program, not an exception to it.
How often do I need to come?
Two sessions a week is the minimum for results. More is welcome.
Do I need to be in shape to start?
No. You just need to show up!
“Training varies every day, which keeps both mind and body stimulated.”

“The classes are small enough to feel almost like a personal training session — and the trainers are clearly experts in their field.”

No commitment, no obligation. We'll evaluate where you are, show you what the program looks like, and answer every question you've got.
